Jake, Leo and Socks!

Happy Friday!

Jake came through his CT scan yesterday and crashed when he got home!  It was a tiring day for everyone since it started at about 5:00 a.m.  Some benign cysts were found and today the report identified several issues, the most serious of which was kidney function, anemia and dehydration. One of the keys is going to get him to drink more!  Kristin boiled some chicken and he drank lots of water and chicken broth this morning. Rest assured we will all be making sure he gets plenty to drink and lots of TLC!

Next in line will be getting Leo’s surgery scheduled for his “paw project”.  If you’ve been following Facebook, you know all about the problems he has encountered with some claws growing back through on his paws from a bad declawing procedure as a cub.  This is going to be an extensive procedure and four surgeons will be working on him so he doesn’t have to stay under for long.  Until he can get this taken care of, we are keeping him on plenty of pain medication.  I can’t even imagine how painful it must be for him.  Needless to say, he isn’t very active right now!

Please show your pride and love for our lions by purchasing some of these adorable lion socks from our sock campaign which are only available for a limited time!  We must sell at least 20 pairs for the socks to get made so order yours now!   Follow this link to get them.  You can find it here.

Stay tuned for lots of posting about our upcoming documentary – King Without a Jungle!

Have an awesome weekend!

Carol
